Mindy is fat, obese actually. There I have said it out loud. I am not in denial, unlike Stefan who still tells everyone that she is big-boned. She is not! STEFAN, SHE IS FAT!! CAN YOU HEAR ME? She is almost the same weight as a toddler for goodness sake!!

And it really doesn't help that she has an abnormally small head so it just emphasizes the size of her equally abnormally large ass! She looks like a triangle when she sits down. And let me tell you, all you mocking people out there who think you know everything, you really don't.

I can't tell you how many times when I've mentioned Mindy's weight problem, people just look at me like I am dumb and tell me not to feed her so much. DUH! No fucking kidding Einstein! Sorry if I sound bitter but it's been a very hard struggle for everyone who takes care of Mindy.

As I mentioned earlier, Mindy has a dietician, her diet gets monitored monthly on a very high fibered diet recommended by vets. She gets monthly weigh ins, she eats a 1/4 cup of food and the measuring cup used to measure her food is about half the size of a 10oz Campbell's classic chicken noodle can. She is never given kitty treats except on holidays (i.e. Christmas, Thanksgiving) and even then it's 2 little kitty nibbles. We try to make sure she gets at least one hour of exercise when we get home.

And as my friend Jen tells me, (she is mum to lovely Max, aka Mindy's boyfriend, who died recently due to complications from kitty diabetes) of her personal weight loss struggles with her cat, that no matter what we do, sometimes there is not much that we can do. It doesn't mean that I am going to stop trying (and the poor dear has lost 3 pounds since the start of her diet, which is quite a lot for a cat) but I am going to try to remember to appreciate her for all her good parts like her easy going nature, her disdain for us mere mortals and just her general fabulousness and not get totally caught up in her diet.

Personally, I think she's fat because she just sleeps so much!!
