Under These Circumstances....

I think I should have a category just for things that I pick up from the gym. After a very long hiatus from the gym, I dragged my sorry butt back there. As you all know, I have a love-hate relationship with the place but, eh, I have to pretend to care about getting fit before bikini season -- before doing what I always do, which is to say "screw it!"

Anyways, there were these two girls in the change room talking about plastic surgery, microdermabrasion and laser peels and I was thinking, "Are they crazy?" The only reason why I say that is because those two girls are pretty fit. I mean, they should be as they go all the time and they're really pretty but they were talking about all the stuff they "need" to get done.

In many ways, I understand, as working in the fashion industry, (another thing that I have a love-hate relationship with, I have a lot of those!) it's all about "perfection" and looking young forever. But it's really not possible, the best thing to do is take care of yourself as much as you can and just hope it's good enough.

I'm not saying that I would NEVER get anything done, I really don't know. Right now, these are the circumstances where I would consider plastic surgery -

  1. If I for some reason, have 5 children and breast feed them all and my breasts get really droopy. I have been warned by many relatives who are also of the small titty family that it's worse when you don't have big boobs to begin with. It's even worse because your boobs get big and then they shrink to nothing so it looks like you have golf balls in large socks. YAH! SEXY! SIGN ME UP FOR A BOOB JOB, IF THAT EVER HAPPENS!
  2. If I ever give into all my food cravings and get really, really fat, like 350lbs on a 5 ft 2 frame, then proceed to lose all the weight and am left with folds of skin that you can hide another human being under. I would get some of that skin taken off.
  3. If I were to get into a fight and break my nose. Which is quite a possibility as I am super protective of friends and family members and get really upset if anyone disses or hurts them. Also, considering that my brothers' first two "life lessons" to me were - "If we ever see you slap anyone, you're in BIG trouble! Make a fist, pull back and punch as hard as you can" and "It doesn't matter how big they are, make sure you get AT LEAST one good hit." Yeah, I would get my nose fixed but I would want it to look exactly the way it does now.

I think those are the only circumstances that I would consider plastic surgery. Try me back in 20 years and we'll see whether I stick to my views!
