The Emancipation of Naeena
Sunday, April 24, 2005
The only way to beat a truly horrendous weekend is to surround oneself with lots of friends. Today we had an impromptu brunch, done very last minute so I was very happy that so many could join us! Lots of food, laughter and general fun had by (couples were grouped together, yes, I do know how to write an actual sentence) Lil Jen, Amanda, Big Jen and Den, Ben and Jen, Kevin (Bridgy), Richie and Mags, Stef and I, and best of all, our little star Aleks. Guys! You know I love hanging out with everyone of you but I never really get to see Aleks so lots of pictures are of him.
Aleks is the type of child that makes you think that maybe having a child won't be so scary after all. Much of it has to do with Jen and Den being such cool parents to begin with. He was a little shy with such a big group of people but after it thinned out a little, he was being very funny and engaging. Mindy got a little exercise and she was a little freaked out to begin with because I don't think she's ever seen such a little human being.
The funniest part of all was that for some reason he would call me "Naeena." At first, we couldn't figure out what he was saying, but we then realized that everytime I would leave him he would shout in a little sing song voice "NA-EE-NA!" until I came back to play. It was as if I didn't look exotic enough for him that he had to give me another name! Very funny!

Mags and Richie. Sick! They've been married for two years or so and he still looks at her like that!

I keep running but this little person keeps following me around!!

CORNERED!!

Cutey Patootey!

Story time lead by Lil Jen with Alex, Stef and Mindy thoroughly engrossed.

Big Jen, aka as Alek's gorgeous mum. She's known as "Big Jen" cos she's so tall and has a body of a screen goddess. Some people have all the luck!!
