May 24 Weekend
Tuesday, May 24, 2005
I am not really sure why we Canadians celebrate Queen Victoria Day when most Canadians don't even remember who she is. However, I am always glad for a long weekend so I am definitely not going to complain. And in our own way, we've made the holiday our own. 2-4 being the amount of beer in a case(a truly Canadian thing) and for Ontarians, the official opening of cottage season.
The thing with travelling so much, I simply spent the weekend catching up on mundane personal things. Not too much to say, so another photo entry will have to suffice.
Stef and I started off the weekend going to a quaint little town called Kingsville that was about fourty five minutes away from Windsor. I often think I would like to live in a quaint town if I had numerous children as then they would be able to have a relatively idealistic childhood like the one I had. On the way there, I talked about wanting a farm with one cow named Daisy, (I couldn't think of any other cow names) a Shetland pony, a bunch of piglets, heritage chickens that give you multi-coloured eggs (I watch way too much Martha Stewart) and a bunch of dogs.
Stefan pointed out to me that I would only like living the lifestyle for about a week and then I would want sushi and be in dire straights. He also pointed out that he would be the one in charge of picking up all the poo and I hate to say it but he's right! I am still thinking about real estate there though only because the price of a home in Kingsville is about the price of a potting shed of a relatively decent house in downtown Toronto.
Anyways, the rest of the weekend was spent visiting family and taking random pictures with my new camera, Canon Powershot SD500. I also signed up for a Flickr account as there are always pictures that I take that don't end up on the blog but I wish I could post them somewhere.

Me trying to take a picture of Stef and I. Obviously my arms are not long enough...
