Random Weekend Thoughts
Sunday, May 29, 2005
I always look forward to my weekends at home because I have all these thoughts in my head of what I plan to do with my "free" time. I should really be used to the fact that the weekend is never really my own.
I went to Stefan's Aussie Rules Football or also known as "Footy" game, the very first one that I have been for the year. He keeps making remarks about how that I have missed a couple of the earlier ones and I keep thinking that this boy has had me go to almost every single game for almost five years, including International tournaments so he should really be damn pleased with me.

Really, if you look at the schedule that their team plays, I should get a nomination for almost sainthood. It's a pretty fun game to watch and I like the other girlfriends so I really shouldn't complain but it does take up a lot of the Saturdays.
Today was spent at our respective parents. My mum always spoils the brat with cookies and dessert. Sometimes I think she forgets that the only reason why she knows Stef is through me, HER ONLY DAUGHTER!! One would never guess as she usually pushes me aside on her way to tell him what new morsel she has made to tempt his picky appetite.

The latter part of the day was spent helping his dad lanscape. It was really supposed to be an hour "put-up-the-broken-fench-gate" job but it turned out to be the most of the afternoon. I didn't really do much other than be the "Sven" brothers' tool girl. Stef is definitely the "planner" and Mark-little-brother-in-a-giant's-body is definitely the "do-er" and both of them are ANAL. Every rock, stone, grass had to be just so. It's always fun times though because Mark has a rapier, dry wit and he and I like to do battle although sometimes I lose and then I kick him in the shins. Then I remember that I am almost thirty and should really be more dignified.
We had dinner there but being me, I got home and felt peckish. Now, I am home eating kimchee, a Korean sidedish of preserved spiced vegetables, the most common one being cabbage. It is definitely an acquired taste as it does emote a certain smell as it ferments through time. I love it best when it is stinky and fermenty. I know it sounds gross but it's when it is also at its spiciest. Anyways, Stef is all grossed out and will not kiss me goodnight now.
And that is how I spent my weekend. Random, right?
