Stefan is leaving me.

Have I mentioned that yet?

He's leaving me in two weeks.

He's going to Australia to play Aussie Rules Football for the Canadian Team at the International Cup. I am really sad that I am not able to go especially since I have only been planning to go on this trip for about three years -- since the last time we were there for the same thing. But, as luck would have it, I got a new job and the timing is just off so I can't make it.

He's been training really hard for the past three years and if he doesn't know this already (although he really should know this already), I am so proud of him. He's been playing the sport for almost twelve years and, over the years, I've become one of the sport's biggest fans.

It may sound weird but I really do enjoy going to his games. It's a pretty social thing and it's helped that I've travelled with him a lot to his International games so I've gotten to know guys from the other teams as well. It's a fantastic game to watch, (although the pro games are obviously so much better) plus all the girls on our team are really friendly. It's a nice excuse to get out in the summer time and chill. It's also usually my sure fire way of getting a dumb tank tan.

Anyways, on Wednesday (while I was in New York), the team voted on who they wanted to as their captain and they named Stefan! Obviously for me, it was no surprise as it was a pretty obvious choice for several reasons. He's one of the more experienced players on the team, he's a really good fucking player, most of the other guys on other teams respect him, he was the only Canadian player named to the the International All Star Team at the last International tournament and HE JUST FUCKING ROCKS!

No, I am not a proud girlfriend at all.

Of course, I am!

Especially since he's such a loyal, dedicated person to everything he commits himself to. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU, STEF!! YAY, STEF!!

Does that mean I can now officially be called Mrs. Captain Canada as opposed to plain Mrs. Stef on the field? I think I should petition for that...
