Harry Potter And The Cry Of A Million Felled Trees
Saturday, July 23, 2005
For some reason, I was sure that I had pre-ordered the latest Harry Potter book but obviously, I didn't because it's not here. Either that or Amazon.com just royally screwed me over. I should really try to look through my old credit card receipts just to double check but I really cannot be bothered.
I was complaining about my lack of the latest book to a friend of mine, who also owns a bookstore. I was telling him how Stefan had forbidden me to buy the book at the Barnes and Nobles in Jersey as it was being offered at 40% due to the fact that I might have had pre-ordered it. Stef had said it would be a waste to have two books. It was a good point, but ooo... I really hate it when he's right.
"Awwww.....you really didn't want to buy it in the U.S anyways,"said my bookstore friend.
"Why not?"
"You want the Canadian edition for this, trust me."
"Why, is the print different? Did they Americanized some words again? I hate it when they do that!"
"Well, actually you can be proud to know that all Canadian editions are printed on recycled paper. And with a book like that, millions of copies being bought, you just want to know you're doing the right thing"
Indeed.
O Canada!
