Heavy Breather

Sometimes, Stefan really never listens to me the way he should. He was going diving in Cairns this past day and I told him to be careful with his breathing because for some reason, Stefan never developed the ability to breathe through his nose and can only breathe through his mouth. It makes him a really heavy breather and all round misuser of oxygen. You know when you go diving, it's pretty important that you be able to monitor your breathing. Here is what he wrote -
Ok, I'm not such a good diver. ;-) First time I went down I used up about a month's worth of air in 7 minutes. How embarrassing! I know you told me to breathe slowly but I panicked a bit -- it is very unnatural. The guy looked at my gauge and told me I had to go up. He brought me
up and then went back down to the other three. They were down there a
while longer. ;-) I snorkelled (which was awesome) and I wished I did
that first. I got used to being underwater but still breathing.
decided to give diving another shot at our second stop (an extra 40
bucks) -- that time I actually did it properly and was down for just
over 21 minutes. Unfortunately I didn't see a turtle (a girl in the
first group did) but I did see a small stingray and about a bazillion
cool fish. It was like watching Finding Nemo all over again.I'm glad I did the diving but I think the snorkelling was even more
fun. I could just swim around and look at all the stuff without
worrying about suffocating. Not doing too much tonight -- just going back to the hostel and making
some dinner. Tomorrow I do the rainforest thing before heading to
Cairns in the evening. I fly back super early on Saturday morning (6
am). Ouch.
Dudes, this is why I have been stressing taking yoga. And now you know.

I LOVE the new look - your colour choices always make me feel like going to Baskin & Robbins, or like when I was a young girl how I matched my clothes ;) Would like to see you again, maybe organize a dinner out or something with Jen!
