We finally decided on a place! We've made a reservation at The Rockhouse, it's a smaller, boutique hotel that's gotten really good reviews. Stefan keeps saying we're going to jump off the cliffs but he doesn't get that people who wear bikinis and jump tend to lose their bikinis in the landing. I'll stick to using the stairs. I am excited and nervous that it's all coming about. And also tremendously relieved, I don't know why brides like long engagements. Painful experience, I think. Just think of it like a bandaid and rip it off, I say. Now I can worry about more important things like Christmas.
You know, I'm thinking I would have been just fine with a used car as an engagement thing and getting married at City Hall. I'm pragmatic like that. Stef is more the romantic and he wanted somewhere beautiful and sunny because I've come to dread the winters here. He's such a nice guy, I am really very lucky....

Have been going through the process of getting all the official papers that we need to get married abroad. Interesting fact - Stef and I are truly a family of immigrants. His dad was born in the UK, his mum in Germany, him in the Bahamas and my parents and I were all born in Asia. How funny is that? It also makes it a bit more of a pain in the ass.

Went to the first of our Christmas dinners, there were two friends who are engaged and planning their wedding. I asked the usual round of questions but secretly felt a little thrill because I am nearly done with all the worrying. I am realizing that time is moving pretty quickly and before you know it, we're actually doing it. I feel so weird.
I asked Stefan whether I have to refer to him as my husband. It feels a little fuddy-duddyish. I told him I would keep calling him my boyfriend. I am sure I'll get used to being married in time.

We went to Holt Renfrew Last Call today to try to find an outfit for Stefan. I figured it would be one of the few places that would still have summer weight clothing. We found an amazing pair of Hugo Boss pants and a white linen Canali shirt. When he came out, he took my breath away. I forget sometimes how good looking he is.
I am a little annoyed now. Are people going to think the groom is way more beautiful than the bride?
I need to stop eating the cheese! I am sure it will not help my "getting into a bikini" cause.
God! I wish this whole wedding was over already so I can stop working out and get back to being piggy. Besides, I really am not seeing any difference.
"Stef! Do you think this necklace will go better with the dress or this one?"
"Do I look like Marie?"
Hmm.....guess he really doesn't care.

We went to Richard Booth yesterday to pick Stef's ring. We're always such procrastinators and we realized that we're running out of time. We decided to go with a ring that is not too shiny because Stef is so active. This one is hammered platinum and has a lot of character. It suits him a lot. Stef tried the showcase one on and miraculously, it fit. We won't have to worry about getting one made.
Stef asked Richard whether he had a 10 year warranty on his rings. That if the marriage didn't work out whether he could get his money back. Richard just laughed.
