I Take It Back
Monday, October 30, 2006
Stefan just came home from the hospital where they had cut off his cast. He'll now be in the splint that he has now for about 4 weeks and then he gets downgraded to a smaller splint. He has to do hand exercises and even press against his injured finger!
I take it back about him being a baby since his stitches are quite awe inspiring. I can't help but be fascinated and revolted at the same time. They're not very neat stitches, are they? You would think these doctors would take sewing 101 and do it right.
It's a little weird that they're leaving it exposed like that and all he has to do is put poly-sporin. But I guess there's a reason why they're doctors and I'm not.

ouch! that looks really painful! and yes, it does look like frankenstein stitches...
Short-round. Surgery 101: Those are GOOD stitches. You leave the wound open to the air to heal. Bugs like to grow in nice, damp places (which is what wounds are when they are covered). Polysporin is good stuff (antibiotic cream). That's it from me. We may be a gruff bunch (and cranky when we don't sleep) but have a little faith...Stef, you'll be fine...just in time for next season! Go the Dingos!!
I agree with Jo and the frankenstein stitches but will have to concur with the advice of Dr Wells since he actually did the whole studying bit on surgery and being a doctor.
perfect shot for halloween??
and i'm w/ you on the guys can't handle a more successful woman thing... [not always, but man have i seen that more than once!]
