I haven't written one of these gossip blurbs for awhile but you know with the plethora of all these gossip blogs out there, it seemed rather unnecessary. Gossip blogs, I have to admit are my daily guilty pleasure. It's like being able to eat all the candy you want without any of the cavities.

However, I was so sad to hear that this golden couple are done. I've always loved them together and their mini me kids. I loved the story of the southern girl marrying the NY boy. I especially love Reese, how she's so intelligent about her career for one so young. Especially in an industry where many of her peers are bits of dispensable fluff. Even though Marie (the cynic) said the break up was expected and deep within my heart, I felt the same; I can't help but think it's too bad that it did not work out.

I can't help but think that her being far more successful than him, may be one of the main causes of the break up. Hollywood is all about ego anyway and as it is, men feel so threatened by successful women. Speaking from personal experience, I remember confessing what my salary was to a guy friend and him being SO upset over it. I had no idea why and later a mutual friend mentioned that it was because I was making slightly more than he was. Never mind that we were in completely different industries and jobs.

I've often asked Stefan what he would feel if I was so much more successful than he was. He often says that he doesn't think he would care and whether he could be a tai-tai. A tai-tai is a term used in Chinese circles for a privileged wife with a wealthy husband. One of the requirements to fulfill the tai-tai role is to be as pampered as one possibly can and make shopping an Olympic sport.

"Do you think he cheated on her?" I called out to Stefan. "Do you think he needed to be with someone who simpers and just thinks he's the most wonderful ever?"

"What makes you think she didn't cheat on him?" Stef replied back. I took a deep breath and before I could say anything, Stef replied back in a falsetto voice,"Not Reese! She's an angel!"

Oh, how he loves to mock me.

Excuse me, while I find a slipper to throw at my tai-tai.

Kinda funny because the first thing that ran through my mind was that Reese got a lot more successful than he did quicker.
