It's The Simple Things...

that make me happy!!
Yes, I know it sounds ghetto but we don't have a dishwasher so we still do all our dishes the old fashion way. Up until recently we had a really (in my mind) unsanitary dish rack that did not have proper drainage. I would spend every other day washing the darn thing while muttering under my breathe "Salmonella" or "E-coli." They're the only two deadly food bacterias that I know of.
Finally, I convinced Stefan to splurge on this fancy dandy simplehuman one and I've been happy as a clam since. There's something really soothing and calming to me about hand washing dishes. I think it's because it used to be one of the very first chores I learnt as a child; and I used to make up imaginary games that I was in some dishwashing liquid commercial.

Speaking about dishracks, the one in my home currently collects water at the bottom, so it's really bad if I don't remove the water. First I found little brown worms growing in the water. Then because of the trapped moisture in that rack, it started growing mold on the rack itself. Thankfully it's plastic, so I can scrub it off, but old stains are hard to remove.
I heard from a friend working in a restaurant that dishwashers don't clean very well.
Yup, handwash dishes anytime!
Yup, that's what I had before and I was very "geli" about the bacteria growing. This one is awesome because it's slightly tilted and never retains any water... excess water just goes straight the sink....
My mum and I have been scouting around for a good dishrack, but so far, the ones that we see so far are not practical (like wooden ones and can't keep plenty of plates), poor designs (trapped water) and perhaps wouldn't last (some tend to rust). Well, hope there's better luck in future!
Where did you find this dishrack? I'M IN LOVE!
Karen, I was browsing through Mindy's pics. She is SUPER cute!!! I wanted to put comments on the pics, but I have to sign up, so I'm posting it here. I feel like squeezing and kissing her face! So geram!!! Aiyooo...she has this pitiful look on her face as if saying, "love me...LOVE ME!!!!"
Sorry..so emotional over the cat. That happens everytime I see any cat especially if they are gorgeously cute.
Amy - I got the dish rack from Costco but they also have it at Hi-Tech on Front.
Jan - If you have a yahoo account, you should be able to comment (I think). You don't need to tell me how cute she is! I am such a sucker for that face too. She always gives everyone that sad look so that everyone will coo and pet over her, the sneaky little girl....
