The Long Silence

I know.

It's been a really long time since I have written.

It is not for lack of things to write about but more the lack of time. I had been working on a huge deadline for an upcoming project the past few months and it was all I could do just to be normal. But now it's all over. The project was a success and now a couple of weeks of respite before working on the next one.

The hard thing for me to do now is to get back into the habit of writing. Don't you find that the less you write, the less you feel inclined to do it?

So here are just random things that have been occupying my world right now:

Lately we've been calling Mindy "the Minister". It's just been a natural progression of her name - Mindy, Min-Min, Mins, Minster and now the Minister. She's been extra bossy lately; we're not sure whether it's because of Stefan and my busy schedules. She's started to tap us on our bodies if she feels she's not getting enough attention. So now I call her the Minister of P.I.T.A. (Pain In The Ass) and Stefan is upset that I verbally tease her that way. He can be so sensitive! One only wonders what he'll be like with our children.

Ryo doesn't seem to want to talk. She signs a lot and can holler "Mummy" and "Daddy" but other than a few words, she simply doesn't want to show us her verbal prowess. I keep telling Marie not to worry about it. My parents used to think the same of me and now they just wish they could figure out how to make me shut up. I am secretly channelling my verbal diarrhoea talents over to my goddaughter.

I recently got 5 numbers out of 7 in a national lottery. You know what that got me? A mind boggling $105!! If I had gotten 6 out of 7, I would have gotten $66,000. Frankly, I am not sure whether I would ever want to win the jackpot. I mean, I am definitely not going to turn it down but a recent article in a newspaper showed that most lottery winners end up being worse off than when they started off -- broke, divorced, friendless, dead, suicidal. Like Biggy said, "Mo' Money Mo' Problems". Still... I wish it was more that $105. At least it paid for the groceries that week.

We started a new book over at our online book club. I am enjoying it so very much. I was trying to tell Marie about it and she asked me who it was written by and I could not for the life of me, pronounce it properly. The worst part is that all I could think about was this skit by Russell Peters.

It's so terrible of me, I know. But I can't just help but laugh....

I still can't believe Marie wouldn't name Ryo, !Ryoko, think of how cool she would be in school! Sometimes Marie just doesn't have any vision...

Jenna - Lil Sis! MAYBE, if you didn't laugh every time she smacked you... she wouldn't think it was a game? Definitely we will be seeing each other in the summer...

Lisa - Still trying to figure out how to talk about work online...but will definitely email you the details!!
